    Default yj shimmy?

1990 YJ, Got new shackles installed on front end and also steering dampers. At highway speed the thing tries to change lanes on its own. Any thoughts to fix?

Is it a shimmy or does it feel like your jeep is about to shake itself apart? Check everything you loosened or might have loosened when you replaced your stuff and make sure they are all tight.

I can't say I can help, but, what kind of shackles did you end up getting?

Sounds like a bearing/hub. That's how I found out mine was bad....doin 70 mph and the jeep tried to pull itself into the median. 1.5" of lift shouldn't change much.

Did not happen until shackles were put on. 2 Piston steering damper already installed. Alignment? Quick fix?

Normally it is that the tires are off balance causes the DW Death Wobble and that has happened to me around 40mph-Not Cool!

You have changed the geometry of the suspension, I would start with tire balance and then front end alignment. They will check the toe and camber which has changed from the suspension being raised and may be your problem.
IMO the steering stabilizer will reduce the shaking yes, but is only masking the cause not fixing it.

I am not a YJ guy just going from memory of other posts so I claim no responsibility for my actions today lol
