Damn those are expensive! Wheels not included. What size are your stock wheels?
Ok, I have more tire questions! I'm not a cheap bastard, I'm just a government employee. I want some nice tires for my Jeep!
I am looking at these:
http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.as...2&partID=61158
but I don't know if they come with the rims or not. I highly doubt it, at that price.
If not, can these particular tires fit on my stock rims?

what profile and rim size. like a 255 is the width of the tire in mm, 85 is the aspect ratio in percentage of the width, meaning that they are 85% as tall as they are wide, and then your rim size being a j/k i'm assuming 16 or 17 inch rims. now with standard mt tires some are calculated in inches, like a 31x10.50x15. 31'' tall 10.50 inches wide and fit a 15'' rim. as far as my opinion on nitto tires go, if you like the crawl at the mall go for it. if you want something that won't leave you stuck because of poor tread pattern, go with something better and that will most likely be cheaper.

That is pricey, but all the Nitto's I've looked at are.
I've been looking for new shoes for the XJ, you can find some nice tires in that size (33x12.5 is about the same as a 285-75) for under $200 per tire.
You should be able to get them installed for around $200 per tire.
Have you checked AAFES? I picked up a few of thier tire flyers at the BX yesterday, decent prices and no tax. Since you're in Germany, might be worth checking out.
I've heard the same thing about the Nitto's as far as performance, or lack there of, offroad.
I think I'm going with the Dunlop Mud Rovers, decent off road, good on road. A bit harder rubber, last a little longer.
I've had the Maxxis Big Horns, great tire. Heard good things about the Firestone mud tires also, but unless they have a rebate or buy 3 get one free, they are spendy also.
All told, you should be able to get 5 tires mounted and balanced for around $1000.
