I think you need to put that turbo deisel in my JK, that's what me thinks....
Here it is! I have most of a TJ, read my custom mods in the intro. I have the complete drive train out of a 85 Toyota pick-up, 22RE fuel injected. I am thinking on powering a Jeep with the complete Toyota drive train. I have a 4cyl in it now and the Toy motor has a lot more get up and go and way more efficient. Plus I may have a toyota turbo diesel on the way which would bolt up. But for the strength increase and reliability I think it would be a good swap. Plus the axles are super strong, just add a birfield eliminator kit and I am good to go. What do you guys think?

But you cant have one! Actualy you can but I dont think the JK would be a good choice for a Toyota motor alot of work and custom adapters. However Jeep are now offering the CRD already in the JK, you can also get it as a crate motor. I will be running mine on veg oil though, as its free.
I'm looking at slapping a Cummins 4 cylinder into mine once i get out to washington state.

Why would you be called a traitor? Modifications are expected.
Just was wondering what hell I would fetch for using all Toyota stuff. As far as the Cummins idea why is that not good, its heavy but still better than many other choices.
Damn Limey Traitor!!!!!

I was just reading an article in JP today that was talking about the same thing. With direct injection, and the output companies are getting with their 4 banggers these days, it may well be the future of Jeeps. Could you imagine a Jeep with a direct injected 4 cyl with turbo and/or supercharged??Doesn't seem right. But with fuel prices where they are, if the numbers stack up performance wise. I say go for it. Sounds like it should be an awesome upgrade.
What kind of hp and torque does the Toy combo produce?
112hp and 144ft lbs. Way better than Jeep the torque is made at 1750rpm also. Thats the 22re the Turbo Diesel 6cyl. is way more 190hp and 320ft lbs.
