I know it's snow covered but this is all I have at the moment. What do y'all think it is? Came out of a XJ. I will try to get a better picture from the guy.

It's not a D44, and I don't see the bif 'nodes' of cast iron on the bottom like the Chryco 8.25 has.

It looks like the pic I have for a D35, but the drain hole doesn't quite match.
Yeah, the angle he took the picture kinda messes it up. To me it doesn't look round enough to be a 35. Also, it has a metal oil plug. I'm asking for more pictures as we speak.
Note, this did come out of an 89 XJ.
does it have a rubber round drain plug? if so D35. what size drums?
The D35 and the Chry 8.25 look a lot alike at first glance. Both are kind of oval covers, and both have 10 bolts.
The D35 cover has only one side 'flat' (pass side of the ring gear)
The 8.25 has a 'flat' spot on both sides of the ring gear.

it wouldnt be a JEEP D35 then. all the D35's that came in jeeps were D35c, which meant they were shipped bare to chrysler and chrysler assembled them. all of them that i know of had rubber drain plugs.
Not correct.
A good friend of mine has a yj with metal fill plugged D35. I really need to get a photo for every time this argument comes up. I know most of them never came with one, but there are some out there. I suppose someone could've swapped out a different D35.... but why?
