    Default New center console

I'm building a center console for my TJ. Putting a 10in sub in it, amp and CB radio along with a little storage room and a place to hide wires. I instantly regret this decision the second I started it though... Should be almost done Saturday. Nothing worth taking pics of right now, just cardboard mock ups. Anyone else done this?

I've done a few in my old Chevy's and a couple of Ferds. The first time sucks a lot. After that, the next one is just fine tuning and figuring out new ways to do different things. Wait untill you decide to do it in fiberglass! That's messy but fun. I do wish you the best of luck though, it can be difficult to get everything to line up right.

Yep. Built a lockable center console for the CJ. Just has a radio slot in it (also locks with the lid, or the lid can be locked and stereo open)

It has plenty of room for a sub and an amp. I can stand my Stanley Thermos up inside of it! I needed something that I could secure my handgun in, as well as the GPS and other valuables.

Couldn't see paying the price they get for metal ones, when I could make my own.

Painted it black, and added a padded armrest to it.

It was some left overs from the 'tank farm', I think it was 11 guage. Friend of my dads used to make fuel oil tanks and other stuff, after they closed up shop, we got to go grab some of the drop pieces. Most of it was 14 & 16 guage, but I used the thicker stuff for the console, for security.
