I have a good friend from high-school who had an (87?) XJ that just wouldn't die. His mom bought it for him for $2,500 and when he told me the miles, we both laughed at how she'd gotten ripped off. Mileage showed something in the lower 400K range. It was not nearly as nice looking as the one in the OP, but we went on many a snow-boarding trip and he drove the crap out of for at least 6 years before passing it down to his little brother, who drove it all through highschool and then some as well. The last thing I'd heard, it was stolen and wrecked by some Mexican migrant workers but ran and drove like a champ until the day it was totaled.

I can't believe how clean that thing is! Talk about some anal OCD when it come to maintenence and detailing!!

Just awsome!! The ZJ I gave my oldest son when he started college ('93 ZJ) had 265K+ on it when it got towed (stupid kid dropped hi insurance)

It had been well taken care off, and at least the tranny and T-case had been gone through (you could tell by the RTV sticking out of the pan/gasket area) That thing was still going strong, albeit, it was no where near the shape of the OP one!

MY XJ had 139k on it when I sold it. It ran like a top, burned no oil, had no driveway leaks and I put the 139k on it in less than 3 years in fact right at about 2 years. I loved the rig, but my next door neighbor has a huge Magnolia tree that got loaded with ice and broke off at the trunk and landed on top of my XJ. This was a HUGE tree and gawd knows what it and ice weighed. But the XJ held up to it and inside it showed no damage or crushed roof. The roof line was not even noticable as you approached the Jeep and I am 6'2" so its one STOUT rig. It was an '85 model, GREAT rig.
