Yes, It's an OE switch. They had them through '90 I believe. It just changes the shift points on the transmission.
Ok so i went and looked at an xj today. It was an 89 4dr 4x4 not bad at all probably will buy it. But anyway on the right hand side of the steering wheel it had a tranny power switch. In the up position it said power ride and on the bottom position it said comfort ride. Does anyone know about this switch. Is it OE? Obviously it's a power feature but I've seen a lot of xj's before and none had this. Thanks in advance for all if any help.

It kind of sounds like an overdrive feature prior to having overdrive.

Thank you for the reply's went to buy it today and it's not in the kids name yet. We went to the title transfer office and he has all the paper work and proof that it was bought legit but if we were gonna do it today it would have cost him 175 and me 100 but if we wait til tuesday to do it we can go to the main office and he wont have to register it in his name and then i wont have re-register it in my name we can save money and do it all and skip the whole process of registering it to him first and just register it from the previous owner straight to me.
