How hard is it to change a starter in a '97 TJ?

Much like doing a Chevy starter.

Take note of where its cabled. Should be a big positive and negative on the starter, but may not be, may just be smaller wires. I run my positive and negative battery cables to the starter, then I add a cable I run to the engine and another one I run to the frame. Sometime they run the big neg to the engine and smaller to starter.

The starter draws MAJOR AMPS upon key to start, then the amps taper off after the starter gets the engine turning. I cannot emphasize the IMPORTANCE of the 3 aforementioned grounds to keep your Jeep properly running...

Be sure to inspect your contacts and clean them well...
