I was thinking about buying a m38 flat fender Jeep. Price is right and from the sounds of it, the only real thing wrong is someone cut the rear fender wells out to install a rear seat.

I'd say do it! If I could find a good project one, I'd prob snatch it up. Sheetmetal can be repaired or replaced!

I'll post pics if I decide to buy it. If now I'll post pics to pass on the deal. What is the going price for something like this with a ZERO mile rebuilt engine and zero mile non-directional tires?

Anywhere from $500 to $3000. All depends on overall condition, and what you want to spend.

Figure $1200 for the rebuilt motor, and $500 for tires. If the frame is good, and body easliy salvagable (sounds like it is)

I could see dropping $2000 to $2500 on it, max.

    Well, not yet...but soon!

The '46 and '47 CJ2A'a are a combined project with my dad. We're building one good one from the parts of the two. It's registered to me, but will be his as long as he's still around. We're splitting the cost on the rebuild.

The '53 PW is still my dads, but will be mine. Under one condition, that I keep it Stock and not wheel it!! We have plans to restore that also, once the Willys is done.

I've been looking at CJ2As and similar vehicles lately. I kinda want something that I can use to mess around in the backyard/that my folks can use as a utility vehicle to take care of the property.

I dont think my old man gets it though. I told him about the idea and he thinks I should just get a rusted out pickup to fix up. I guess some have the jeep bug and some never get it!
