Why? Is it broke? Are you thinking of swapping in a Dana 300 or Atlas? Is this a trail rig or a daily driver?

^^^ All very good questions. A little more info on intended use will yield much better results.

a propery maintained and functional Quadratec is a great setup, however they are complicated and parts are getting hard to find, to me a part time TC is the way to go nowdays unless you live in a snowy area.

it really depends on preferance and how good a condition your setup is.

The Quadratec system will wear out eventfully. When you say part time are you talking about the select trac. If so I would go with the select trac or part time over the fulltime.

Its a daily/tow rig. eventually will see slight offroad when the whole family wants to go but mainly daily and tow. Its just gettin to be a little stubborn to get in and out of low.

ditch it. the cone and clutch are almost impossible to find new and usually outrageously expensive.

Okay so then I am with 91YEEPER and it is time to look at a replacement and you should be looking at what is compatible with the rest of the drive line you have. Not sure the NP231/241/242 family of Transfer Cases will work in a pre 1980 FSJ with out using an adapter http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_137g.htm So I would look at this info and see what one would work best for you that is available in your area http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...se_gateway.htm
