Default scratches, just a casualty of offroading?

Got a likely dumb newbie question. Been offroading and just went through the car wash. Now that the mud is gone, all the scratches show on the paint and roof. Is that just a casualty of offroading? Anybody try to buff them out or paint them or do you just live with it? She's not so "pretty" now. Thanks for the feedback.

Or hit it with a claybar, then wax and buff. also, don't use the stupid auto washer car washes. Just high pressure water to get the big stuff off.

The surface of your Jeep is like anything else, to keep it in top condition it must be taken care of. I don't mean don't take it off-roading, but take care of it when you get back if you want it to continue to shine.

-Keep it washed. As all that grime builds up it gets harder to get through it to bring the clearcoat shine out. A good car wash soap is key.
-Keep it polished. Use a high quality polish. Not turtle wax or armor all or anything that you will probably find at Walmart or the exchange. I highly recommend the 3M products.
-Once a year or so, clay bar your Jeep. Then immediately polish it to protect the paint.

I just let them be a source of great memories! Like others said keep it clean and waxed but you will never be able to keep it scratch free.

^^^This! Every one of my scratches, dents, dings, bumps, creases, and holes tell a story. Some are good, some not so good, but they all have a story to tell and have all been well earned. Personally, I like them. I wash my jeep regularly and, on occasion, give her a good wax job. I refuse to put too much money and work into protecting the paint when I know I'm just going to go scratch it up again.

Thats what makes a Jeep special, Mine only have 1000 miles and is all scratch-up.
If you wax it then it will happen again at the next run..............Just leave them be JMO.
In NM we called New Mexico pin stripes.

It's gonna get scratched. I don't do it on purpose but it happens.

Every once in a while I will give it a good cleaning/clay bar/wax/polish..... its due now but WFTW is only a week away... might at least wash the old dirt off to make room for some new.

Sorry to sound nit picky about your post, but just to clear things up, polishing it will do nothing to protect the paint. WAXING it will protect the paint. The sequence should be clay bar, polish with polishing compound or liquid, then wax for protection. Buffing the wax afterwards will make it shine.
