14 mpg down george washington national parkway
think this goes in here...
anyhow, i filled the tank up the other day, (a whole 15.285 gallons from just under a 1/4 tank).
with all the driving we had to do, we put on 303.6 miles on the old jeep before i dropped another $20 in gas this morning. still had a good quarter tank when i gassed up. got home & checked the trip-odometer... 316 miles. on basicaly a whole tank of regular 87 unleaded.
the odometer reads at over 240,000 miles. last summer we took a trip up north (2.5 hour drive) & had to gas up again before coming home. we averaged about 200 miles per tank back then.
so what's changed?
what are all you getting?
for a 20 year old jeep (inline-6, auto) that's pretty good gas-milage.
i love my country, but scared to death of its government!

Just gassed up today...249 miles, 16.08 gallons...according to the calculator on my phone that's 15.49 mpg. Not great but not bad either
With the top on I get 16.7-18.4 (best) in the CJ
With the top off, drops to 12-14.5
and towing the 'Adventure trailer' drops it another 2-4MPG.
This is with a fresh rebuild on the entire drivetrain, and an MC2100 carb on the I6.
I'm geared at 4:10 with 33's, really close to stock, as my speedo is within 5mph at 70.

I get about 170 miles a tank on a 4 cyl 5 spd running on 33's. It was worse when I had the tires at 35 psi. When the tires were at 25 psi I was getting 125 to a tank.
Since the lift the 200 miles a tank days are way gone.
On the 04 Grand with a 4.0 and 57,000 on it I'm getting about 14. a couple months ago I was getting 19 whats up with that. I haven't checked the XJ yet.

Well I know that one of my probs is that my check engine light is on and that the TPS is bad just havent had the time or money to change it out.
The Grand is running fine and we don't use the A/C hardly ever. A couple other people I have talked to said they are getting bad millage these days. Maybe the gas around here has something to do with it, I don't know. I've tried differant gas but it all seems to be the same except BP and it's worse.

I average about 18-19 mpg all short distance driving, mostly backroads or the FFX county parkway I have only put about 6k miles in a year.
i get just shy of 15 a gallon on the rubicon, and 20 in my wifes jk
If it can't be fixed with 100 MPH tape, 550 cord, zip strips, and a hammer it can't be fixed
