    Default 46Rh swap to a 46Re transmission swap/ driveshafts

Under going a full Jeep swap (transmission issues)
Just a bit of back story: built a 94 5.2 a few years ago, the engine electronics finally ate thru my wallet. I found a 98 5.9 and started to swap all of my aftermarket parts, lift, 242 tcase, and so on.

A bit of research on my part would have led me to find out that my drive shafts wont swap from the 94 to the 98 due to the difference in length of the 46Rh (1994) and the 46Re (1998).

Thus my issue: the Zepetta front shaft was way to short and destroyed itself. In my infinite wisdom i decided to pull the front shaft from the 94 and of course its too long.

So the questions stand at: Will the 46RH work in the 98? If i shorten the front U joint style shaft will i end up with addition binding and drastic angle due to the difference in shaft length? Ultimately I'm just hoping for the shortest fix due to a wheeling trip this weekend.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes it is cheap, it's also free to remove one transmission and put it in the other vehicle.

Since im already planning on swapping the 242 tcase I figured i might aswell just pull the trans too.

The electronics/TCM will probably be different between the two. Don't know how much/where the wiring will be that needs to be changed out.

Your PCM will probably have issues if it is the stock 98 pcm. The RE is electronically locked up, the RH is hydro, so it might not see the signals it needs to see in order to work correctly.
