    Default just for looks

ok i am going to give my wife my jeep and get a CJ 4WD to play with. She likes the look of a lift but will never take it off road. She like to hit the trail but to drive it. So, I want to give her jeep the lifted look with putting a kit on it. This way she gets the look. Would putting stiffer springs, shocks, struts, ect on it give it the look with out putting a load of money in a rig that may not hit the trail?

Depends how high you want to go. A 2" BB is cheap and a 4" kit will run about $800 just for the kit if you do the work yourself. If you put a 4" lift on it you will want bigger tires to fill the wheel well so that is some more money. I just put a 4" on my WJ and like the looks. I put it on because I bought some bigger tires and had some rubbing issues. Good luck.

Here is a link to some before and after pics of the 4" lift. The before pics had a 2" BB installed at the time.

I'm Mike, make sure you spell it right, because I do not want to get the wrong A$$hole in trouble.

If you do not have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time do do it over?

If you end up trying to put stiffer springs on it just for altitude, she is probably not going to like you a whole lot for very long. Just hit the 2" BB and toss some 30-31's on there and call it a day.

Old Man Emu springs. Not too expensive, and they ride well.

Stiff springs=unhappy wife! she likes it for the looks and the ride...dont mess with it. Stay stock and go with 2" shackels or Budget Boost (depending on model of jeep) Sence she ISNT going to wheel it, you can put a larger tire than normal on it...just know if she "stuffs a wheel" she will do damage. There was a jeep TJ running around here that had factory suspension and 33" tires. Hope he/ she had bump stops!!!
    good luck
