Army Any ideas for storing fishing rods?

I've got a 2010 wrangler and I'm looking for any ideas on how to fabricate a storage system for my rods. It has to go under the soundbar because I've got a spider shade. About half of my poles are two pieces and just go in the back, but I've got some 7 footers and I'd like to just stick em in there without the hassel of reassembling! Any ideas or pics aside from just using a bungee cord are greatly appreciated!

For anyone on Ft. Belvoir the catfish have been pretty nice so far this year! I'm out a few nights a week and we've had anywhere from 10 - 25 lbs. blue cat's and good size channel cats!

Best set up I've seen for an off road rig, is a piece of PVC pipe (2"- just big enough for the pole) and cut a groove in one end, for the shaft of the reel to fit through. Slap a cap on the reel end, and you're GTG.

In my XJ, I used some of the small 'Quick Fist' rubber clamps along the headliner on the pass side. Keeps 2 poles up and out of the way.

I haven't been high speed enough to fabricate something. I place my pole (two piece) between the roll bar and body on the side of the jeep. It's long enough so that it stays there and doesn't move enough to wiggle itself loose and fall.

I do the same thing with my poles that I can break down, but I've got 2 one piece Shimano's and I'm looking to either mount or suspend something from the soundbar with another piece either under the passenger side sunvisor or above the rear view mirror.

PVC pipe like HB said. You can bungee cord it in place when you want to carry/protect the rods then just remove when you're not carrying rods. Helps protect them from damage while in garage also.

Large diameter PVC pipe. perm cap on one end and a screw on on the other.

Screw caps nice, but I hate taking my reels off then re-rigging everything. So I use a glue on cap on both ends. I just push it on the reel end, cutting a slot in the pipe for the reel 'neck' to fit in.

Have to dig mine out and get a pic....it's about time for some trout fishing!
