    Default Gears

I am changing the gears in my jeep. I ordered 4.56 ratio gears. The company is sending me one 4.56 and one 4.11 gears is that going to mess with my drive train.

Why would they send you 2 different gears ratios? Don't mix and match...your rears need to be the same as your fronts and vice versa.

It will DESTROY your drivetrain if you do that and put it in 4wd.

Jeff is correct on this one. It sounds like something got mixed up during the order. Now, it is possible to be slightly off with gears if the particular axles that have been swapped in don't have the exact same ratio available. Example would be 4.11s in a rear axle and 4.10s in a front axle. Provided the front axle has manual hubs, the .01 difference won't hurt anything in 4wd. It would only be a damaging factor in 4wd on dry pavement.

However, 4.56s and 4.11s should not be in the same vehicle at the same time and whoever you ordered your gears from should have known better than to let you order them without a re-confirming question or something like that.

I'm kind of curious as to who you ordered them through so I know to avoid them.

I'd say piss poor quality control. Simple phone call of "Hey...is this order for two different vehicles?" would save them same serious future hassle. If they've already shipped...I'd call them and make sure they know they'll be paying some return shipping and getting me out the right gears soon.

They are being shipped from 4wheelparts.com from England. I called them and they said they recalled the order to fix it. Do to a miss type on the order.
