I ran the XTerrains for a while and they performed really well and I like the look too. Also, from what I remember, they were about the quietest "off road" tire I've ever ran.

I have had the MTRs on my JKU and love them, quieter on the road than my BFG M/Ts were and they do great in the mud and on the rocks as well!

MTR Kevlar's for the win. They hold up great against the rocks and road. However there is no free lunch. In the slop, the tread tends to clog up fast. You need some fast wheel spin to clean them. The tread is very close together.

It all boils down to what your going to be doing with those tires, more so in the heat of el paso. big a knobby are good for rock, sand and mud. but they suck in wet or slick conditions. and the list goes from there on down to drag slicks! If its super aggressive you want. go with interco, in most cases the do good and are decently priced. plus the factory will automatically replace the tir.e for free if it fails

I also run the MTRs and love them. They were a great upgrade from the Procomps I was running.

I've got a set of treadwright MTR knockoffs that have been holding up really well. I think I paid $80 a pop for them. Not quiet by any stretch of the imagination though and I had to move up to 16 in rims to run them.

How's the balance with those? Every time I look at the site or call in, they never have my size, good donors are an issue.
