Okay here goes. I’m installing flush mount 4” round LED tail lights on my ’06 TJ. The wiring and cutting not a problem I have the driver side in. Next I start on the passenger side and behold large steel brace holding that thing whose name is unknown and it’s in the way keeping the flush mount light from being flush mount. Has any one done this mod and dealt with this problem? Or any suggestions on how to correct it?![]()

That large thing in your way is your EVAP system. 2003-up TJs all have that there. 2002-prior have the EVAP under the hood. What I did was make some 1.5" spacers out of steel tubing and swap the bolts out with longer ones. If you pull your plastic inner fender liner out, you will see the 3 bolts that hold the entire bracket in place.
USMCHarleyJeepGuy's link is, I'm sure, a lot more informative than what I just told.
Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately my internet crapped out last night right after posting so I had to figure it out.
What I ended up doing was cutting the back half of the light housing off and sealing the rear with silicon. I couldn’t use the spacer because the ones I got have the rubber grommet.
I still need to get some side markers but its looking good I will post some pic’s when I figure that one out.
a little late but for the next guy
www.stu-offroad.com Stu olsons jeep site talks about relocating that evap box on the passenger side.
