    Default 2 questions for Wrench Monkeys

    When I welded my 8.8 shock mounts on, I moved them up like everyone suggested, now I'm just curious as to which size shocks to buy. I need two rear ones as the adjustment and my offroad driving habits blew the rear out quite quickly. I have 4.5" RE lift, so I was thinking rear shocks for a 2-3" lift. Is that enough to compensate for the amount moved?


    Also, my jeep leans to the right. Noticably so. I measure the rear and it's off buy a little more than a 1/2". My front left spring came out off it's seat, so I need to redo that, but you'd think that it be leaning to the left if that was the problem. My anti-rock is measured equal, so I don't think that's it....i'm at a loss here. Little help?

    Chris, If you welded them at about the midline on the axle, than you should drop 2" from the length you would need for your lift in the stock location...so with a 4.5" lift and your mounts close to midline on the axle, than shocks for a 2"-3" lift should be spot on.

    ...about 14"-14.5" closed and 22.5"-23" open from eye to eye in case you were wondering about them that way.

    I thought we noticed you had a CA in backwards after the tow? Switching that might level you out.

    You don't even have to jack the damn thing up for a single control arm...just leave it on all 4 tires on level ground and flip it. What do you need more tools for? LOL

    if the arm doesn't fix it I would loosen all you suspension bolts arms track bar ect bounce it a few time go round the block twice then re torque to spec. might have some bind in the bushings
