Default Army Hitch for a military trailer on a TJ

Any ideas on how one could attach that hitch so that he could use that trailer?

Would that be strong enough with a bumper hitch with frame tie in? Or do I need to spring for full tow package?

Most Jeep bumpers use the 2" as a recovery point, and most manufacturers state its not for towing. I would suggest the full package.

The trailer pictured is a 3/4 ton, and will be a lot to tow if fully loaded. I'd make sure the hitch is up to it.

As far as a pintle, either suggestion will work well, I prefer the one piece over the bolt to plate style.

I have an M416 1/4 ton Jeep trailer, they tow great! There are also some great trailer sites out there that may have info on which bumpers with recievers will work well.

The main reason most aftermarket bumper manufacturers don't rate their bumbers for towing, is that a 2'' reciever is rated for more than a short wheel base, 1/4 ton Jeep can handle. If it's rated as a recovery point (versus an accessory mounting point, eg: bike rack) it should be good enough for a small trailer.

you dont want to tow more than 1500 lb with a jeep and right there your at 1000 not including the pentle that weighs about 50lbs by itself.
