    Default AtoZFabrication Hood Vents

Tomorrow we will try to install the hood vents from AtoZFabrication. I originally wanted the Poison Spyder Louvre kit, but they seemed to be taking their sweet time making them available to the public, so I picked these up after reading a suggestion in another post.

The vents are for a 97 to 03, but I was told that the only difference is that the 06 has one nozzle for the windshield wiper fluid and the 97 to 03 have two, so I have to add an extra nozzle and also cover the hole that was left from the one in the middle that the 06 has.

Unfortunately, they cut their little logo design right out of this thing where the one nozzle on the 06 is placed. They did send me the cutout parts, but I am guessing that it would have taken some work to get them back in, welded and then smoothed out. Not something that I wanted to deal with, but I have to suck it up if I want these to work on my 06.

The photo below is after the first coat of paint was applied. the lighting and the reflection of the tree behind it make it a terrible photo, but it gives you an idea of what it looks like.

The vents went on ok. We drilled the holes for the bolts around the outside of the vents first, then cut the center holes. We were able to cover the holes from the old vents, which was what I was looking for. I will try to post pics tomorrrow.

Looks really good in the Flat Fender pic. How much sheetmetal did you actually cut out of your hood for the AtoZ louver panel?

Just enough to go where the vents are. We already had holes cut for the last vent, so under the hood it kind of looks like we cut two big lightening bolts out. They said to make sure you don't cut thatsupport beam in the middle of the hood, and other than one bolt which just happen to be within the support beam, everything went in well. I am just going to drill a hole in the bottom of the beam big enough to fit a socket so I can get that last bolt in.

since you didnt cut where the logo and nozzle are. You could move the nozzle to an open part of the logo or drill a hole through and put the nozzle righ on top of it.

It works really well with the hood on the 2006 contrary to what they say for the model years for the product. The only issue is that there is one squirter for the windshield washer fluid on the 06, and I guess previous years had two. The cut out design in the hood vent with their logo lets a little bit of the original hole for the single squirter show through, but after sitting back and thinking that you just put a vent on to allow for better circulation of air, that one hole does not really pose a big issue.

Here are some pics that show the vent.
