If you are referring to the light that shows the gears on an automatic, there is a bulb under that panel that you can remove. You just need to pop the little panel up with a flathead and pop the bulb out.
Any other shift light.....ya got me.

no, the shift light for manuals. i dont know if its the true name, but i've always heard it called the dummy light. It pops on at a factory set point for the best fuel economy
