That winch is from Harbor Freight and sells for $369.99 new according to the website. If it looks new you may get $300 but probably not much more IMHO.
My buddy has a Chicago 8000lb winch on the front of his Jeep, and has only ever used it once. looks kinda like this...
he doesnt know what he wants for it. What would be a reasonable price yall think would be good for the winch?
Thanks

I bought one for a trailer (to load cars onto it) from harbor freight about 1 1/2 Years ago. It was the 8000lb chicago electric. Paid $200 plus tax for the winch fairlead and winch plate as a package. Was just at harbor frieght yesterday picking up some airline fittings and they had the 8000lb winch and fairlead only for $199. The plate was $29.99 extra.
Also on the harbor frieght site you can sign up for there weekly fliers. And the weekly flyer I have right here says the 8000lb is $199 with fairlead. They have sale all the time but it may depend on store location. Not sure on that one.

See you on the trail.....TREAD LIGHTLY!

For a used winch I would say no more than $150

But now are they any good? I was always told to steer away from Harbor Freight winches.
I've gotten some Chicago Electric power tools for the Harbor Freight store in Potomac Mills Va, they're way cheaper than the brand names at Home Despot...but my bud tells me from his use that they wear out motors etc faster...so far my lil' electric saws/angle grinders etc are working fine...can't beat the price for mid quality Chinese poop...

They work. They are not a WARN or Ramsey, but they will pull with the best of them. Where you lose out is line speed. It will be WAY SLOWER than any name brand winch

I've had one for a while. It's pulled me out a few times, but the last time it almost didn't survive. I think it pulled me out four times over a year or so. On the fifth time it had been submerged in muddy water and the clutch quit working so I had to power in and out. Then the remote shorted out and I had to pop the top off the solenoids and jump it to get it to work. I think it will probably work once I clean it out but if I am definitely saving money for a Warn now.
