    Default 2003 wj

Bought my son a project WJ to work on until he gets his license. Noticed odd tire wear and a bit of a pull so I took it in for an alignment. Not terrible, but caster is way off. It isn't lifted at all and shop said it didn't have the cam bolts for adjustment. What could cause that? Could that account for the slight wandering sensation it has?

Also seems to run warm sometimes, but not always. Tstat? At first I thought it was just opening late, but then I noticed temps staying above normal.

180k miles, 4.7L, quadra drive, no lift. Thanks all!

Worn control arm bushings for alignment. Id say get a bushing kit and replace all the bushings, won't regret it.

As for temp, could be one of 10 items. TStat, fan clutch, clogged radiator, bad radiator cap, water pump.....so on and on

Ok, thanks. Do they sell complete bushing kits for stock suspension? Temp will go down to 210 but every now and then go back up. Hate to throw parts at it... looks like tstat housing.ng is seeping anyway so will start there.

yes, Ebay is a good source. A kit will have all the control arm bushings, shock bushings, tie rod end bushings, every piece of rubber on the jeep.

I've heard nothing but horror stories about the 4.7L engine and most of them were overheating issues. I have no experience with them but wish the best of luck on it. I agree with Fred on the bushings but I'd also inspect both upper and lower control arms to see if one is bent.
Just a redneck with a big Jeep!
