Default Why did you pick what you did to OR in?

well for me, i had a titan before, sold it cause gas was insane, but i missed the itch so i got an XJ

ive always loved these ever since i saw the movie goonies back in the day and have always wanted one... the style has never changed since its birth and its never had to... i also like the idea of being able to go off roading and being able to utilize it as an every day, but know that i could go every where with it when i wanted to..

    whats YOUR reason?

Ever since i can remember my dad had a 93 Cherokee. I loved that thing it was ****in awsome. I was going to get it when i turned 16 but my ****ing stepmom made my dad trade it in for a damn tacoma. i was pissed. ever since then I have always had a facination with jeeps. I wasnt allowed to get one when i started driving, my stepmom didnt trust me. but when i moved outta her house, i got an 84 Trans Am when i moved in with my buddy after high school, that got totaled while i was in basic. I got a 97 when i got to dc, then i went home on leave and got to drive my friends TJ. that resparked my love of jeeps. when i got back from leave my Trans Ams engine blew up, thats when i found my TJ...

I rode in a flat fender when I was a kid, I was hooked.

Grew up in the country, and we always had 4x's, my favorite was, and is, my dads '53 Dodge Power-Wagon. But he wouldn't let me touch it, until now, and only for a total restoration

I love my CJ, dumped over $15K into it, (bought it for $300), The XJ is great for when the whole family comes with.

    Jeeps I've owned........

    '78 CJ7
    '84 CJ7
'80 CJ7 Still have this one, it's my baby.

    '84 XJ
    '86 XJ V-6 dog!
'99 XJ Current DD and family wheeler

'93 ZJ-just gave to my oldest boy
    '97 ZJ

    My next big resto project:

Only 60K actual miles, no wonder my dad wouldn't let me touch it when I was young!

Hill!!! I'm in love with the Power Wagon!
You MUSt keep us posted with pics of rebuild!!!! (drooling already!)

I drove the company Jeep while at Hood/REFORGER and had a blast! (but, then again, I had an Old Mogasser Duece at hood also!)

Was PCSing from GE in '94 and saw the "AAFES Travleing Auto Circus" and saw my next 'car' = '95 Wrangler Sahara, bought it at Riley, joined "The Flatlanders" and was hooked.

Fast forward to '03, a friend getting an '89 XJ and we ran into a future friend/Pres of PoorBoyzJeepClub. Started hanging out with them, and bought my '85 CJ7 three weeks later from a friend's neighbor for $800....

    That was Bessie!!!!

Wouldn't get rid of Bessie now, 'cuz i know every inch of her inside&out!!!
Haven't tallied up all the receipts for her, 'cuz it's not important.

Not done rebuilding her, but just havin' fun with her....

Mine was an easy choice. My sister bought the CJ some time ago, she didn't care for it as much as she thought she would. My dad bought it from her and drove it for about 7 years or so. I spent quite a bit of time working on it as my dad is not allowed to work on automobiles according to my mom. When he and my mom retired and were getting ready to move to Pismo Beach they came over to my place and he tossed me the keys and the title and said happy birthday. I've been hooked ever since.

I wanted a Jeep for my first "car" but I don't think the parents trusted me! LOL! So I got a little beater car. Well, when I got to Panama, I bought my first baby...'75 CJ5 for $2000. Probably too much but I was young, single, stupid and didn't care, I had a Jeep! As I've said before, they wouldn't let me ship it, too rusty and we were going to Korea, so it would've been stupid to ship it there. Right before we left Korea, they came out with the round headlights again and I pre-ordered one, put $1000 down and went on my merry way. Well, money got tight and we decided not to get it, of course that meant we lost our deposit ... fast forward to last year and I am sitting here with a paid off '02 Alero (hating a car) and I find my baby online...emailed the hubby in the sand and said, I'm going to look at it. Got to the dealer, he said no one wanted it because no one could drive it (it's a stick). I told him I could drive it and if he'd work the clutch I could drive it from the passenger seat with my left hand as well! Ah...living in England! I drove her home and have been waiting to live up to my name ever since!

    Well let me see....????

My 1st truck was a 86 F-150 standard cab short bed XLT 4x4 with a 351w. It had a two in body lift and only 28K original miles! But it had a blown head gasket and bad radiator(the cause). 0% rust and I got it for $300 bucks with new brakes and tires. It now sits at my dad's garage and its got a built C6, heads are worked, holly 4 barrel, bored, cammed, and a 9in rear. All the motor work was done before I started driving so as you can imagine I got alot of tickets! At one point it was on 33" BOGGERS!!!! I got tired of repalcing ball joints though

2nd was 88 ranger 2.9 5spd 4x4 standard cab. Great hunting truck! Had just a 3in body lift with dana 30 front and 8.8 rear.

3rd 93 F-150 extended cab xlt 4x4 with 6ft bed and this made my third red Ford truck. I got it with a stock 5.0 in it and it had 6in of lift with 35's. When I sold that it the 5.0 was supercharged and it was on 40's. You can imagine there was alot of sweat and blood in that truck. I got rid of it because I kept tearing up that shitty wishbone front end and was sick of it and didnt want to spend the money on converting to a solid front end

My fourth is the Heep an 06 LJ. Got it because I thought it would be cool to take of the top and doors. Then I relized how addicting they are and how much money you can dump into um! Plus the Heep goes sooooooo mannnnyyyyy more places and most of the time without breaking!

Got the Jeep because.... Finished restoring and rebuilding a mint 88 Bronco(Full Sized). New everything, tranny, gears, tires, the works. Pulled it out of the garage, waxed it up, took it for a spin and within two miles had an 18 yr old girl total it (she ran a red) and she had no insurance. Wife felt bad and bought me the 97 Jeep I am driving now. Worked out well as I really love my Jeep.

I had a 97 TJ in high school. It was my first car. I took my drivers test in it. It was a lease and my parents wanted to trade it back in. I joined the Navy a little bit later. I got into the import scene and did that for about 7+ years. I had a Mirage, then 2 civics and an S2000. I also had 2 different Bronco 2's. The itch to wheel was there but I never had a rig that I could trust. Well after about 6 or so months of searching I found the rig that was me. Thats my story.
