ouch, hope you get it repaired quickly. nice story telling though.
It was snowing. Lightly. Dark and cold out. All alone. The 4wd was screaming at me to engage it. I ignored it. Jeep goes into a sideways slide. Instinct kicked in. I turned into the slide. It saved me. Impact. Even more alone. Tears. Cuss words flow like the snow outside. The Black Demon's eyes grow dim. Darkness settles in. The fence is in pieces. We limp home, together. Tragedy.
I had to get a little dramatic. I creamed a chain link fence and threw my allignment off. My jeep hates snow in 2wd, like most jeeps. I should know better, just hit some black ice near these pine trees. It's the only spot on the road that does it. Nothing else was slick. There were two others there with me. I'm Pretty sure my track bar isn't bent. But my front wheels shifted horizontally to the passenger side moving my axle and everything with it, obviously. Do you guys think I can drive it the shop, about 15 miles away? Do you think it's even worth adjusting the drag link turnbuckle? I'm gonna go play with it in a sec. Just had some questions.

That story sucked. Glad you're okay and hopefully minimal damage to the ride. But that story sucked. It was like reading a horror story, but oit was about a Jeep. That is just not right.
That sucks... glad you're OK though.

Can you see if the front ujoints or knuckles are broke? If they're busted up you could cause more damage by driving. Might be best to take out the inner axle and leave the outer for the 15 mile drive. take is easy.
The buckles aren't broken at all and the only thing I could tell that was broken is the mount to my driver side control arm. It def. needs a front mount and re-welded on. It's still attached pretty solid, it's just bent real bad and part of it ripped off. I think I'm gonna attempt it on Monday when the snow goes away.
Ooooooh, that sucks!!!
The good news. I finally get to regear, or actually have to. Were gonna put an XJ axle in the front cause it's gonna be about 600 bucks cheaper than putting a TJ axle in. Any thoughts on that? I'm not familiar with this, but my jeep dealer dude says this will be the best way to go w/o spending too much . The bad news, I have to replace EVERYTHING in the front.I did have insurance from Pro-Comp on all my suspension parts, so those get replaced for free, or so they told me....
