Congrats brother. Good to hear.
A little background: Last Thanksgiving, I went wheeling with my local club, and burned up my #4 piston.( '80 CJ w/258 CI ) Since then I have had the engine rebuilt, while it was in the shop, I installed 4:10 gears and Aussie lockers in each end, rebuilt the tranny, rebuilt and clocked the t-case,and picked up an MC2100 carb and adapter, and an HEI dizzy.
I rebuilt the carb on Saturday.
Well today I finally got to fire it up! I had the dizzy in, just eyeballed after finding TDC, then set the carb on, with the adjustments set from the rebuild.
It cranked a bit to get the fuel up to the carb (also installed a new pump and sending unit/pick up) then she fired right up! Had to adjust the dizzy slightly, but she revs and idles great, the best part is it fires right off when restarting it. The HEI and MC2100 have to be the best upgrades for a 258 !!
