    Unhappy unknown fluid and sound

The past week when I have been driving it has ben sounding like my belt is squealing, but when i checked it, it is fine. So last night when i came home and parked, I noticed little drops like something was leaking. the little dropplettes were clear, but there was not a lot, but a decent amount, keep in mind i dont have AC. I looked under my Jeep, and i noticed where the driveshaft connects to the rear differential, on the dif, it looks like it has been leaking. I havent noticed any other problems, just the sound, and then the fluid yesterday. Any one have any ideas? I will try to get some pics today or tomorrow to try and help out. Thanks

Clutch could be causing the squealing.

I can't see the pic, but the leak sounds like the pinion seal.

The squeal could be a bad pinion bearing, cuasing the leak.

With the wheels chocked, and the tranny in nuetral, try and move the drive shaft up/down and in/out at the rear diff. There should be no play (other than some rotation)

If there is play, the pinion bearings are going out.

Just the seal is easy. If the pinion bearings are shot, the gears have to be set up fresh after replacing the bearings.

Hopefully the squeal is from something else!

Does it squeal when you're rolling only? or when the Jeep's stopped with the engine running?

If it happens only when moving, could be brakes/something stuck in the brakes (mud/rock)

Is it possible to have someone walk alongside while you drive, to help pinpoint where the squeal is?

    Wheel bearings are another possibility.

    Good luck on the search!
