    Default Remote Start

I have been tasked by the boss to install remote start on the 08 JK. Since she drives it during the week and I get it on the weekend I can not say a word...

Anyone ever done a OEM remote start upgrade to a JK or anything that would give me a little advice?

Bring it to a pro installer!

They have some great new remote start/alarm's with two way feedback for around $500.

If you do it yourself, stay away from 'Bulldog' brand. I've installed 6 of them, and every one had problems.

I have a CompuStar in my XJ and love it!

    I have model P2WSSR.

The 'two way' is nice, becuase the key fob lets you know when/if the rig started, or if the alarm goes off. Range is like 5-6000 ft!

In my humble defense, it was installed in the XJ when I bought it

    But it is nice!

HillBill do you know what brand, etc? I have a friend with a '92 XJ who wants to do it to hers.

PS have you had to use it many times this year? Being you live way out in "Southern Canada"...

Mine is a CompuStar. There's a link in my first post. (it's for the manual, but has good info)

There are some other good brands out there now also, most car audio shops carry/install them.

    Good Luck!

btw: I have used it a few times, the temp has been between +5 and +30 lately.

I'm gonna be putting one on my TJ eventually. It really helps with the cold morning starts on our Range Rover.

Right now, I have the ghetto version of remote start... some might call it, "The Broken Ignition Mod". You know the one... you can start the Jeep just like always, but as a nifty bonus, you can remove the key and leave it running thanks to someone breaking the damn thing. You are then free to open the tailgate, console, etc. without having to turn off the jeep!
