    Default BL/Header questions

    1. okay I know this has been hit up a million times on here but Im gonna ask again. Im runnin 4in. SL on 33's. I really wanna gain just a tad more height as far as the body. Im not tryin to go incredible hulk and make my jeep turn green and split its pants, Im just tryin to get some height. This is my 1st jeep so I will be askin a lot of questions. My idea is no more than 2".

    2. Also, anyone have experience with Borla header/cat back system? Or any other headers/catback? Pros vs. Cons?

Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

I think your saying you have a 4" Superlift, and want to add a 2" Body lift. I run a 4" lift and a 1.25 BL and have 35's tucked under it. I wouldn't recomend anything higher than a 2" BL. Hopefully, with the 4" you already have, your running an SYE.

I don't know how others feel about this, but I wish I would've done the motor mount lift with my body lift to keep everything in line. Most BL kits come with T-case bracket, but then you have to fiddle around with it. .02 from me, mind disclaimer.

I'm not talking about a T-case drop. I'm talking about a plate that relocated the bracketry on the tcase lever connection. Comes w/ most BL. T-case drop involves dropping belly plan correct? Comes with suspension lifts like Superflex and Skyjacker (maybe?)...

Why are wanting to go taller? Is it to fit a larger tire or just for more appeal? Are you rubbing your 33s at full stuff now? IMO, go with a 1" to 1.25" bodylift. (I happen to know a place that makes one) Having and keeping a low center of gravity is going to serve you better in most circumstances. I'll give you an example; my '03 X is riding on 39.5" Iroks with the equivalent of a 4" lift and a 1" body lift. I can climb damn near anything I want and don't feel tipsy or unstable.

As far as a header choice, I have had really good luck with Banks; both on my own jeep and on customer's. I have one customer that has constant problems with his Borla header. I can't and don't fully blame Borla because I realize that there are lemons in everything. I think he has a bad header but I don't think that's a good example of Borla's quailty.

For your first Jeep, you are supposed to ask lots of questions, get picked on and made fun of, break bolts, loose pieces and run into at least 3 things with your jeep while wheeling. It's just the natural progression of Jeepdom.
