    Default O2 sensor ordeal....

    Ok.. so I called the Stealership this morning to price the part. There are 4 of them in the catalytic converter?? How do i know which one is bad without having to pay someone to look at it?

    Help!!

    You have 4 "in the catalytic converter"? There shoudl be 4 total 2 before the cats and 2 after the cats. Normally if you have it scanned it will tell you if it's upstream (before) or downstream (after), and which bank (left or right side). Figuring which bank is 50/50 shot. What year, model and engine do you have? If our computers ever come back up I can get into Alldata and see if it says which is which.

    Some of the autoparts stores do scan for free, ie Auto Zone does as long as you have a check engine light, and they may be able to hone you in on the terminology, Bank 1 is the side that cylinder #1 is on. And yep up stream- down stream is noted on the print out.
