    Default Brake Fail, need advice

Went out this weekend with the local land rover group and several guys from base with Jeeps. Jeeps were kicking butt of course. But then my brake line that should of been fasten out of the way got caught under my shock mount. It was just short enough that it pulled the line and caused a leak and of course brake failure. Spend the rest of the day taking picts, and riding with my friend Andy. Anyhow before I rig something up, any advice on how to keep the extended cables from getting caught up?

I will shot a pict of my setup when the wife returns with the jeep.

On my extended front brake lines, I zip tie a small spring to the shock, and to the line. It allows the line to move under full droop, and pulls it away from the tire in full stuff.

Something like that may work for ya.

Exact same thing happened with me except it cut both front brake lines completely in half (happened when I jumped my Hummer H2). The idiots who installed my left about a week before ran my break lines through two pieces of moving metal...morons.

At any rate, I took my H2 to the stealership and they put on new lines and zip tied them out of the way...never had a problem after that. Although, I didn't jump my H2 after that either.

Jumping a H2. Pretty good story there somewhere. So...There I was...

I was thinking about going to my local Homes store and wander around forever because I cant find any springs and am unable to ask in Japanese where they are. Took 45 min to get a cotter key after I lost mine off my quick disconnects.

Although, I did get that thing about 4 feet off the ground (from what the bystanders told me). They were standing around like this afterwards:

Mine were zip tied to my shock as well. Not anymore, and it doesn't look like I will have any problems, but I need to get them secured a little bit better. Didn't have a spring, which is an excellent idea, just a small zip tie that could easily break if needed.

I was able to get a ride home, grab the stock line, remove/replace and rebleed the brake. It had enough slack to get me home. With 4" of lift I did not have alot of slack.

I was just pissed that I had to be the one to break down when the Japanese land rovers club was with us. Such is life.
