Default CB Radio for Jeep club question

The club here uses FRS/GMRS radios for communicating. These are the normal FM Motorola talkabout radios you can get at Walmart. I would like to get a CB Radio. Does anyone know of a CB/FRS/GMRS radio on the market for the all in one package?

They do not make a CB with the FRS/GMRS radios.

Not that I'm aware of. They do make a FRS/GMRS base station that has a corded mike, and can run off of either batteries or 12V power outlet.

Saw one trail guide that had one strapped to his rollcage, overhead.

He said he was so used to using a CB, and always losing the small handheld radio, that it worked well for him.

I've thought about it myself, (my club uses only CB's) but some runs with other clubs and events use FRS/GMRS. I don't always have a spotter riding with, and holding on to a radio is a pain. I've got one laying in a mudhole on the lower "Money Talks" trail, becuase it decided it would rather walk than bounce through in the Jeep with me.

ETA: The only pics I can find right now look like answering machines, arrgg! They do make small portable base stations (10"x8"x1.5" ?) w/corded mic.

That was a nice question I wouldn't have thought of. I have used those small things on the trail before, but I just can't hear crap from them. Now an all in one unit would be sweet. I don't wear my hearing aids in the jeep because they pick up all the crap I don't want to hear (like the jeep parts being left on the trail), and a CB like that would be sweet.

Found it! This is like a CB, but works on the FRS/GMRS freq's.

At $90 I'm seriously considering getting one. For as often as we use our FRS/GMRS radios at the cabin, and occasionally wheeling, this would be great. Especially to leave at camp, when the wife and kids are done wheeling for the day.

That is pretty sweet. I just hate that small radio that is always ends up out of reach on the passenger side floor. I love a CB and would love to reach up and flip a switch to go FRS. I like the weather band however doubt if it works in Japan. Oh and btw, CB and FRS are not legal here in Japan. Iceland we had an agreement with the government to use channel 16 I think it was. Here we have to be careful.

This one is GMRS, and we have to be careful near Canada using those (GMRS) channels. Certain areas near the border and all of Canada they are prohibited.

It would be nice to have one unit that has both, CB and FRS/GMRS

CB is an AM radio, if you add in a FM radio you are talking about 2 radios in one. It would be cheaper to just buy a hand held.
When I was at Ft Jackson every one of my Cadre and Drill Sgts had a handheld, and we had real good experiences with them. Plus, with a handheld you can have both of them operating at the same time without interference.
