I say no. Looks cleaner without. Save the $185 for another mod.
I'm not a huge fan of paying several hundred dollars to put a Golden Eagle sticker back on my CJ7, especially when its just over $300 for a new one. But I really miss the originality of it and I found one on Ebay for only $185. Only $185, for a sticker- I still can't get over that one.
Anyway, so I'd like to get everyone's recommendations - go for it, or no?
Here is my Jeep before the resto with the original decal, and another pic after my resto. I think it will look pretty nice, but is it worth it?
Thanks for your input

Depends, are you planning any "major" mods? Wheeling basic trails or planning on more advanced? No offense is it going to be a "Mall Crawler" "Show and Shine"
If you're going to wheel the snot out of it, Don't.
If it's going to be more Show and Shine, get it. Just know that it's big and a PIA to put in place. You are talking the Eagle on the hood also correct?

Nice job on the restoration. I'd keep that out of the woods and just drive it every once in a while...too nice to beat up.
Before I answer the poll...what's the background on the eagle? Were there only a few made or something?

thats all i got to say. Yaaaaaaaaaay. And i am 100% heterosexual.
WORD!
As clean as you have restored it and the history of the Golden Eagle edition, I voted for the sticker.
But I withdraw my "yay" vote if you plan to wheel it.
The value of the restoration with the sticker is greatly advanced with the Sticker on it. And will be good if you ever have to part with it.

Thanks to all for the replies and hopefully they'll keep coming in as the bidding on ebay is open for another few days.
I completely agree that I need to make a decision as to which direction I'm going to go with the jeep - "mall crawler" (hilarious!) or "wheeler", and thanks for all the comments on the resto. Its a daily driver now with some light wheeling, and I think it will continue to be that way. Camping trips, forrest roads, light woods, etc but no rock crawling in the future that I can see. I'm not opposed to some branches screetching their way along the side of the jeep or burying it in mud, but I'd be pissed if I rolled it or dented it against a tree or rock.
The decal would include the big turkey on the hood and the "golden eagle" side markers, just like the original. I'd probably have a body shop put it on - if I'm paying that much for a sticker I'd hate to accidently put it on crooked or worse, crease it. For those that asked, the Golden Eagle edition for the CJ7 was produced from 1977-1983, and I don't have a clue how many were made. They also had it for the CJ5, CJ8, Commanche, and even the newer TJ's.
So, I'm still up in the air about it. I think I can rule out damaging it from off roading, so now I'm just looking at cost vs appeal. If you were in the market for a older CJ, would the sticker turn you away or entice you more?
Thanks again and please keep the comments coming!
