Default Beating the piss out of my 33'' swampers.....

and im thinking its probably the perfect time to purchase some all terrains being that im driving back and forth to VA from MD quite often until i leave.

I have been looking online, and i would love to have a set of all terrains mounted on some rims and keep my swampers on rims and just swap them back and forth. Is this a good idea, or should i just keep the swampers on and when they wear, buy another set of tires?

I guess my question is, what do the wheelin folks do? (thats you guys)

    Thanks again......drink to the foam!

If you can find a set for the right price, I'd say do it. I know a few guys in my local club do that.
Up here in Jersey our DMV is all screwed up for inspections. If you are required to have a lift inspection they write down the brand and size tire, if you change either you now voided the inspection.

Check Craigs List. You could propably get a set of stock tires and rims (already mounted) for $300-400.

My Jeep is my daily driver also, so that is exactly what I do. I have a set of 4 33" BFG A/T's that are my rollers on the street, and 5 BFG M/T KM's for the trail. I swap them before I go wheeling. The A/T's are so much quieter and handle alot better in the rain, snow and ice. You wont regret getting them except for looks.

There are tires and rims for sale all the time on NOVA jeepers and Craigslist. Links:

If you lay out the money for new BFG A/T's, they will last a long time. With rotation and care - they are known for going 60,000 + miles. Ive had mine since 05 and they still have over 50 percent tread.

i swap stock tires for my bigger ones. mainly b/c of wear. i got a set of wrangler GSAs for $60 a piece at economy tire. i happened to have my stock wheels as well so i just mounted them. i simply switch to my A/Ts when i go wheeling.
