When installing body mount rocker/sliders, is a rubber gasket between the rocker and body really needed? Or just mount them and run a bead of silicone around to prevent water and debris from getting between them.
Poison Spyder sold a 'Slider Liner' preformed rubber gasket for the rockers, but they wanted $60 for them. They went out of buisness before I could afford to buy them. I just bit the bullet and spent the $75 for the stock body mounts and I need to get these things outta the garage and on the Jeep.
05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.
I would just run a very thick bead of silicone around it before install about a half inch below the lip. Then after install, use a nozzle on the bottle and a straight edge to kind of grout it like the tiles in your bath tub. Tight and reinforced with more silicone![]()
