    Default New air filter?

    OK, here's the sitrep:
some major work on the CJ going on, rebuilding the engine.
my mechanic is replacing the webber with a holley 4bbl.
the other day he pulled it to clean and rebuild for a trade with a fellow club member and he found MUD. not dirt, etc, but MUD.
    used to have the K&N.
what's an alternative to the K&N?
usually it's dirt with some mud/water here on the local trails, and rocks at paragon.

what are my choices other than going back to stock?

    thnx

For a carb motor? That'd be new for me.

I thought K&N was the cream of the crop when it came to air filters. Ask Rob what he does. Looking in his engine bay I saw an aftermarket air filter and he takes his through all kinds of shit.

    Haha.

Wouldn't it impact the carbs ability to access air? I mean, it'll still breath, but not as freely as it would with a stock-type carb.

What engine is currently being rebuilt? I-6, 304 or 360 V8?

The K&N filters with proper interval cleaning/oiling should do the trick.

As a side note, let me know how you like the Clifford set up. I've been researching, and it sounds like the way to go without doing a 360 swap.
    Later, T.J.
