    Thumbs down Bushwacker Trail Armor

If you plan on buying this, think long and hard! For the price you pay, it's better to get real metal versus the plastic Bushwacker offers. I bought the entire kit for my 06 TJ. Every weekend I put Armor All covering every inch. They use 3M glue to keep it all on. The pieces fit perfectly. When I deployed to OIF 5, my jeep was in NC. I planned on a few touch ups when I came back from my 15 month stint, but what I actually had to go thru was beyond my foresite. After many hours of rubbing armor and sweating in the GA heat, I finaly decided to start from scratch. Bushwacker doesnt have a warranty to cover fade or warping. So I sanded it all down, put 4 coats of primer and let it set for a day. Then put 4 layers of black high gloss on every piece. I also noticed that the 3M had lost all hold on the body of the jp. So with a trip to LOWES, I picked up some nice nuts, bolts and washers to hold all the pieces in place. Thinking I was good with the NEW hood guard I had, I was driving down I-17 and wathed it fly off barely missing the truck behind me. Yes it got bolted down to.Only then does my Trail Armor look good. I still have to touch up and spray Mequiars Trim Detail, EVERY weekend.
Over all assement = Trail Armor Not worth it. Switching out piece by piece with metal.

That sucks. Thanks for the heads up.

Have you written Bushwacker to see if they could do anything for you?

Man that sucks. I never really cared for their stuff to start off with, now I know I'm not helping their revenue.

When I had the tub and bars "Line-X'd", I had them do the (stock) fender flares as well. They look good and don't get messed up. After I get my OD paint job I'm going to have the front sprayed as well as wrapping it a bit around the hood (where the bra currently is).
    It's well worth it.
Check out the pic in my profile. It's not a close-up but it'll give you some idea.
I came into this world kicking, screaming and covered in someone else's blood. I have no problem going out the same way.

Was another thread floating around the site somewhere. My buddy down at Benning had almost the same thing happen to him; he was driving on I-95 and said heard a funny noise and felt an odd vibration and all of a sudden his front right flare went flying off.

I asked for opinion on Bushwhacker flares because they looked good. Numerous opinions but everyone said to go with maybe Xenon for more clearance and more durability. After reading this it definitely looks like I wont go with the Bushwhackers.
