The "car czar" has both companies by the balls no matter what choices they try to make. I wonder tho, if they did plow under would it increase the value of our rigs and if so by how much?

Meh, i hope they don't bail them out. I just hope another company buys the rights to produce Jeeps![]()
i kinda hope they go under... and their product gets reduced like crazy until they find a new buyer... im REALLY looking into a new rubi![]()
If they go under, the ripple effect to the US economy as a whole is going to be HUGE! I would hope that no one would want them to completely go under. It could be the blow that takes our economy from it's current standing 8 count into a knockout punch resulting in a full blown depression that this country hasn't seen in 70 years. It could be the trigger for some BADDDDDDD shit y'all.
Marines...shoot me a PM if you have not received an invitation to the Jarhead Jeepers social group on this site and would like to be a member.

It could. Then it would come back even stronger. It's the cycle of the free market. People have had to learn to do without in the past, and unfortunately it's looking like it's time to tighten the belts again. Or we can keep printing off money and hope our great grandchildren can pay off our bills.
If we all chip in maybe we could buy the Jeep brand!
I've got 20 bucks on the table.
Real Jeeps are built, not bought

Why is this "bye bye" to Chrysler?
They're asking for a fraction of what GM wants.
Ford is getting ready to ask Congress for money, on top of the loans they got a year before shit hit the fan.
Industry insiders are already seeing a turn around in the profitability of Chrysler.
FINALLY, Chrysler also received a nice shot in the arm from the investment made by Fiat, which will also help to save a large number of Dealerships. Did you know that Alfa Romeo was coming back to the States this year? Who do you think is gonna sell them?
well.. maybe bye bye HUMMER.. lol
GM will no longer own the rights to hummer

Concur.
The thing that people need to realize is Wars have started for less.
Wait and see what happens when the Average Joe and Jane can't put food on the table as to what happens.
Personally the Taxpayer should not be bailing out any private company. We started that crap with the airlines in the eighties and now everyone wants a piece of the pie. A company needs to stand on it's own with PRIVATE investors supporting it.
That being said this whole Stimulas package would be better served sending it back to the taxpayer. Imagine how well your average person would stimulate the economy with a cash influx.
Maybe Joe & Jane are saving for a house downpayment, they can afford the mortage and are saving a bit at a time to get that 3% down while still maintaining their lifestyle. Any influx leads them to buying that AFFORDABLE house.
Tom down the street always wanted a big screen, but never justified the cost when the 32" was just fine. Maybe he goes out and buys himself one.
Harry, is looking paying off his debt in credit cards.
The list goes on. Instead we get a package that sends the very money those folks pay in out of ever check sent out to others who aren't even helping themselves. Ones like the Illegal with 6 kids who goes and gets fertility treatment to have another 8.
You want an instant stimulas for the country. Here is a real simple one, one that any Congresscritter and President and Taxpayer could easily agree on. Suspend Income Tax for 6 months. How would you like your full gross pay for 6 months. My only debt after that would be a house note, with a lot more toys around the house I know that.
But you want to know why they wont do that, cause they lose power and people realize actually how much they are sucking away from the average working folks and it would lead to tax reform. Mustn't let the sheeple know what we taking already.![]()
