Do they manage to salvage some of the important decals on the window?

you'll have to replace your dod decals. Ask them to scrape the center/serial part. Some of the decal places ask to see proof of destruction.

DO NOT DO THAT....it will set up pressure from the inside from and the slightest next little pebble will land your windshield in your lap on the highway. Dont ask how I know. We have Geico and they will send someone to your house/job to fix it. In our case...they came to us. We paid nothing. I guess that depends on your policy but I am telling you from a safety aspect DO NOT DRIVE IT LIKE THAT. Even if you think it's okay. It isnt and if you have my kinda luck, it'll bust. Again, don't ask how I know. Since the window is already cracked take a straight razor and get your decals off. Get what you can and put them over on a piece of paper, some of it is better than none of it. Hate to see something happen to the MJ6. Be safe!

I would think you would atleast lose your windshield on your upcoming wheeling trip.
I'd also think about wearing glasses until it gets replaced.

I've done 4 windshields with USAA in 20 years... If you have glass coverage they will ask if it is bigger than a dime, bigger than a dollar bill and is it in a direct line of sight. They would rather repair than replace. If you don't have the glass coverage, you might want to consider the same.

I've always had to start over again with all the stickers and was reminded every year to get the DOD stickers off before replacement...

i have USAA too. my windshield has a small crack in it and i called and asked about a replacement. ida had to pay the deductible. but for free they had a glass company come out and push resin into the crack and that stopped it from cracking any further. that was last year sometime and it hasnt cracked anymore. you might try that.

    Ah the cracked windshield mod......

The flat, upright Wrangler windshield is a rock magnet.

I dont stay behind trucks long on the road after learning this lesson myself.

I would get it fixed as soon as possible. Depending on your state law it can get you a ticket if the crack obstructs the drivers vision.

Then you have to pay a fine AND buy a new windshield.

mine is also cracked right now and unfortunately it too had babies. we have usaa as well and they said if it was smaller than a dollar bill then they'd fix it free. well, too bad when i called them it was but by the time they got back to me it had grown 2935847235 times that size. i think that was their plan. i called a local company and they quoted me $105 with a new seal included in that. i'm waiting for the cold weather to be over too. i am not driving the jeep as much, driving the truck while the old man is deployed.
good luck with yours. i'm also skeered that if i drive it, any little pebble will cause it to shatter in my face.

The way my State Farm policy is written, I do not pay anything for windshield replacements. I have had about 4 or 5 done over the last 10 years or so and not paid one cent.
I'm Mike, make sure you spell it right, because I do not want to get the wrong A$$hole in trouble.

If you do not have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time do do it over?
