Now that you live in Ft. Hood, that would have been my first thought also.

Keep praying for the glass gods to bless you...

    damn! USAA has changed...
    scenario:
Germany. Wurzberg. Feb 92. Walk across the street to my Toy MR2 to drive to Corps HQ in Frankfurt and notice a little "spider" coming fom the bottom of the windshield. Cancel trip to Corps, and call USAA.
Drove to a shop, had my NCOIC pick me up and we returned the next day to pick it up.
    No charge, and no hassle.

But, had a new one put in Bessie last year, and a local glass guy went to the mechanics and replced it for $115.

Ryan, put on your "Need to do list" after TDY....you have such a cute face.

Default Crack in your glass bigger than the crack of your A$$?

USAA will hook you up. Just had my glass in my dodge fixed after my PCS to FL. If you don't want it to grow, SUPER GLUE!! run over it with some glue be sure not to put any weight on the glass and LET IT DRY. then go over it with a razor blade. It will get you through for a while. If you catch a crack early enough, it won't spread for a long time unless you're in the arctic circle.

Now why did I never hear or think of that before?! Great tip!

It just might have saved me my factory glass a few years back on a drive to the gulf from Goodfellow AFB. Pull over, dab on glue, eat lunch and be back on the road without it spreading across the windshield. And if it does not work, one is not out much for trying.

And speaking of the arctic circle, I think the opposite effect was in play that day. It started with just a deep chip and about 101 F outside and the AC blasting inside... Then watched the crack grow about a quarter inch per mile!

I tried packing tape on the inside of the window to get it to last until this weekend, but it did not work and was probably one of the dumber ideas I had. At least I tried.

We had it replaced yesterday, they came to our house and did it. Next time I will try to superglue thing, it probably would have been smarter than trying tape.

Aside from Jeep windshields... I've got one crack but never talk about it or expose it... my doctor is the exception though.
