I suppose you could call these mods - High lift jack mount and suggested place for a CB. Since the CB wires run so close to the overhead sound bar, I ran a lead from the external speaker over to the speakers on my sound bar - no more problems hearing anyone! The high lift jack mounts are the bumper style mounts that I just flipped down and mounted to the wheel well. It sits at a little bit of an angle, but still clears the seat and the door, as well as both roll bars.

Oh yeah, almost forgot - the YJ tub mod for the CJ7 owners (galvanized body and a whole lot lighter!) as well as the Family style roll bar. Certainly doesn't make it as strong as a custom cage, but it does add the three point seatbelt over the lap belts which is a bonus! These are not necessarily super cheap, but I picked up my YJ tub for $250, sold the old CJ7 tub for $200, and bought a YJ roll bar for another $200.

Got a new bumper for my XJ, cheapest winch bumper I could find that was strong and good looking. It was $495 on sale for $300 from Nates in MI. Just have to paint it.

    54 Willys truck.

    nice looking bumper!

Austere Mobility in a '99 TJ Sport with a few bells and whistles

The bravest of all Spartans was Dienekes. It is said that on the eve of battle, he was told by a native of Trachis that “the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fire their volleys, the mass of arrows will block out the sun.”

Dienekes, however, quite undaunted by this prospect, remarked with a laugh, “Good. Then we’ll fight in the shade!”

    Cheap mods - really cheap
Zip tied a small mini mag holster to the bar behind the drivers seat. Keep my air gauges there - kept loosing them.
Cheap webbing behind the seats attached to the roll bar. Keeps stuff in the back from flying forward and I can put my windows behind the seat and it keeps them up right and out of the way.
The waist pak on the drivers headrest holds my first aid kit.
Ammo can between the seats for toilet paper, lighter, gloves etc. nothing of value but can be removed easy or bunged in place on the trail.
