    Default jeep bogs out

ok see if anyone can figure this out. ill start the jeep up start going and the jeep starts to bog out when i hit the gas then picks back up and then keeps doing it for alittle then be fine going down the high was then i give it more gas and does it again then it backfires real loud scares the crap out of people driving beside me. has a used engine in it but did it before i put the new one in has new plugs wires and cap. been bumped it up to medium grade fuel. the only thing i can think of is maybe i have to drop the tank and replace the sending unit?

i dont think replacing the sending unit will do anything that just has to do with the gauge. It would be your fuel preassure regulator maybe wat type of carb do you have

That sounds like the same problem I had in my old YJ. Never did figure out what was wrong, the Ex-wife ended up selling it out from under me since she signed all the papers to get (She used my money to buy it while I was in Iraq). Anyhow, I too, would like to know what this problem is.

If you avatar is the Jeep you're talkin about looks like you take it through some deep and wet mud.....just a thought but check and make sure your cat isn't to clogged up with dirt/mud if it's clear i'd test your fuel pressure at the rail, if thats good move onto your regulator

make sure all the sensors are plugged into your throttlebody. I screwed around with mine the other day and forgot to plug one of them back in and had the same problem without the backfiring. maybe just clean your throttlebody. SEAFOAM!!!!!!!!

You mentioned that you removed the cat. What/where is the place to hook up your O2 sensors. That might be a place to look. It's probably needing the info from those sensors to adj the air/fuel mix. Just a thought.
