I have one and have used it a few time doing light pulls. GhostTJ has the 10,000lb version and he has worked his pretty hard and it has nor failed him yet. The only complaint on the 8000 is I don't really like the selector for free spool and winch. I can say thier customer Service is top notch

Yea I got the xrc 10k version and it was used pretty heavy last weekend pulluing a full size chevy up some hills and a stuck dodge+trailer in my yard Fred.

It worked well, it did however drain my power when pulling the heavy chevy up a 40 some degree incline, but a little skinny pedal did the trick.

I'm going through a bit of an issue with mine now. I have had the XRC8 for about a year and a half. All of the paint came off the mount bases on both the motor and gearbox sides and the gear lever and support bars rusted badly. I called Smittybilt and expained this to a technical service rep. To their credit, they sent me free of charge all new parts and stainless hardware to replace them. When I called back to tell them that of the 10 allen screws connecting the base to the gearbox, 4 of them had rusted so bad that they completely stripped when I tried to remove them, they offered to send me an entirely new gearbox and mount. I have to agree that their customer service is pretty good. They even sent me a free winch cover to protect it from the elements from this point on. I guess I should have had one on there to begin with.

As for performance of the winch, it is a bit slow compared to the Warn I had on my last Jeep (and I keep kicking myself for not taking it off when I sold it) but I'm OK with that. As long as it works when I need it, which it has.

Yep. I'm an exact same story as Panzer5a. Had mine for quite a while, only issue I'm having is self-inflicted. They sent me new parts, gonna have to call about the cover too. Awesome company.

Had mine on for about 3 months now. I do have some good pulls on it. Works great. I actually prefer the little slower line speed that it has, especially in the rocks.

I'm thinking of getting one of these too. Does anybody know of any sales going on right now? Looking through old threads on other boards I've seen them go for as little as $269 shipping w/ a free winch plate.

I second the slower line speed. I actually like that it doesnt go so fast cause if Im using it its because Im in a bad spot where mostly speed would do my jeep more harm.

I like how it looks on there as well. Only thing is Im looking for a winch cover now so anyone see one out there for this winch let me know.
    Thanks
