    Default Any opinions or advice

Due to a resent conversation with a friend Rroadkilll. All the plans i have for my jeep and parts to collect over the next couple years to build my jeep. Well its gonna take time so in the mean while he talked me into doing a 3-4 leaf spring lift. and throwing some 33's on it so i have something to go wheeling with now. Any suggestions on a brand that you prefer or deals or pros and cons throw them this way. if you havent read one of my other topics. My jeep is a 92 yj. 4.10s with the stock 30/35 axles. currently running 2 1/2 lift with 31's.

I dont have a lot of experience, but I had a 95 YJ that I installed a Black Diamond 3.5" lift kit on. When I bought the Jeep already had a 1" BL. I didnt do a lot of wheeling when I had it but it did ride very well and performed purdy good. I got the kit through 4WD. Easy to install also. I did mine by myself over a weekend. Hope that helped a little. Good luck.

Do it right the first time. "Buy it nice or buy it twice." Rubicon Express. Get the HD double military wrapped springs. A little more expensive but worth it in the long run. Look around on Ebay, you may or may not really get it cheaper than you can directly from RE, but you should get free shipping and maybe free shocks. That's how I got mine and I occasionally look and still see offers like that. There are other brands, but there is a reason RE is #1 with guys that use their Jeeps. Not knocking the others, just mine and others personal experience.

I agree with Big Green. Do it right the first time. I had a Superlift 4" kit on my YJ some years ago and would not recommend it. Very stiff in my opinion.

If you use RE spend the extra $ and get their Heavy Duty kit. I didn't, and regretted it.
I now have BDS springs on my YJ - 3.5" in front under a D-30 and 5" under the rear, under an 8.8. Even with the extra lift in back it's still a little taller in back, but as close as I could get it. I'm really happy with the BDS stuff.

And say Hi to Roadkill for me, haven't seen him in a while. He referred me here.

My jeep came with a 3.5 black diamond lift and 33's. I wheel the piss out of it and am happy. I am sure that RE or OME lifts are to top of the line and the way to go by popular opinion, but I'm happy with what I got under it.

It could use a little bit more flex, but I'm waiting to get the 44/60 under it.

Hate to get off topic, but what kind of tires are those and are you happy with their overall performance? They seem like they would have good road manners and wear well. I like the looks of them.
