Get rid of the gas tank and mount a fuel cell...thus freeing up the space formerly occupied by the gas tank for a rear winch UNDER the rig!
I'm looking to mount a winch on my tail end. Here in the GA mudd, having a winch to pull backwards is worth the money. The problem is, I can not find a rear bumper to mount it on. I know about the quick connects but I'm looking for a fixed mount. Any ideas?

PM crazy4ink and see what he's got cooking. He may have ideas that he's done before.
Where in the bed would you mount it though? It needs to be frame mounted one would think. I don't even think I'd trust the rear crossmember.
You'd have to cut some of the floor of the back out and do a pretty damn good job tying into the frame and bracing the frame rails to keep them aligned.

Guess your not worried about submersion if not going in the bed. Mount it in the center of the heep between the frame rails, cut access hole in floor between 2 seats, but a little behind the tcase. Run cable under tub over top of gas tank and have roller fairlead mount to rear of frame (would be a pretty straight shot from winch to fairlead). Then you can control the winch from inside the vehicle and only the spotter will get muddy.
Can go fancier and use either electric or mechanical acuators for engage, free spool and no hole needs to be cut in floor.

You can do a hitch mounted winch. That way you only need one winch. Just put it where you need it. The problem is storing it out of the way until you need it.
If anyone figures out a good design you can count me in for wanting one. Just let me know price and how much to ship it to me. THANKS!!!
I have often thought about how nice this would be to have. I have only seen a few options and that aren't really viable for me. As far as mounting it in the bed and not trusting the rear crossmember, here is a fix for that.

Here is a picture I found a while back. Kinda gives you an idea.
Here is a CAD from Oman4x4 and his design using a Road Armor rear bumper.
