    Question Hey TJ Owners:

a co-worker has a 2000 TJ w/stock soft top and has a broken tooth on the back window flap. Is there a place that sells just the rear flap, or should he just look around at places like craigslist, etc?

    thnx

People sell just windows over on Jeep forum all the time. He could also try the dealership if money is no object. I hate my damn rear window and have went to be many nights thinking about a way to do away with that zipper, or at least have a different fastenting system for the top portion of the window so you only have to zip the sides up and down to take it out.

Took me a minute to find this on google. I don't think velcro will hold it in. I have been thinking of a way to add some type of fastener to the top portion of the window like the ones that hold the soft top down on the tub. This way you could just hang it up there, zip up the sides and be done with it, instead of fighting a zipper all the way around the edge of it. Most of the time I only unzip the sides anyway to get in the back.

Have him take a look around town for an alteration shop that can handle heavy fabric, or even better, a place that repairs sails. They can take the old zipper off and replace it with a better, more heavy duty one.

I've gotten a zipper replaced on my soft top before and it didn't cost much. find a place that works on convertibles, vehicle upholstery, etc. and you should be good. I think that it cost me like 20 bones.
