Default Importance of Steering Stabilizers???

Put the lift on the jeep, now I am wondering if I should invest in a steering stabilizer like:

    Full Traction Steering Stabilizer

Is it worth the money to add this or is it just nice to have?

Don't do it bud. All they do is hide underlying problems. If I had a steering stabilizer, I may have not found all of those problems that Friday. Just go to Pep Boys or Autozone and get a 30.00 one like the one I got, that way if something really bad happens (i.e loose trackbar, balljoints, etc) happens, you can catch it early and fix it before it breaks something else. Death wobble could've ripped my shit apart if I hadn't jumped on that.

I've been wondering about this as well. What kind do you get at Pep Boys or Autozone?

Pep boys. 30 bucks. Looks stock, but after my death wobble fiasco, I wasn't really caring and it won't hide problems like aftermarket will.

I'm sort of in the stabilizer problem area. I took my rubi back to the dealership I bought it from (Dulles Jeep)due to a bad front end shake, they added a Skyjacker stabilizer and said "everything's fine now". BS. Still have some real front end shake, it's better, but they won't look any farther into it. The tires have been rotated and balanced too. It's at Tysons Jeep right now, I asked them to look at it and of course I get the ol' "we can't replicate your issue when we operate the vehicle" BS. What is the most common component to fail on a stock front end that causes this shaking?

Tires, bent rims, loose front track bar, worn hub bearings, etc.... This is really hard to diagnose...

Yeah, every club that you look in an search for the death wobble thread, there's a laundry list of problems. What I would do if I could do it all over again is check the cheapest stuff first. Then work your way to the more expensive stuff. Mine was so bad and hidden for so long that it broke a bunch of other parts and wore my tires funny. Now I'm in the market for new tires too. Yay.

He is probably going to want some more 35's unless he buys my 33's so I can buy 35's.

I was thinking about getting a Skyjacker stabilizer for my YJ but after reading this I may pass.
