If you put a 5200 series lock on that monster, it would be impenatrable!!!!![]()
After talking my design over with a couple people, and looking at my lack of a shop to build my intended storage unit, I decided to postpone my build of storage 'trunk' for the jeep. Until such a time where I have adequate resources and tools to accomplish my goal, this will have to do. It is secured to the tub by two bolts through the tub and into a cross member that were previously drilled for a tire carrier I had. Then I secured the back of the box to the back seat bracket bolts. I'll clean it up some more after Diego and I re-Herculine our jeeps again. Total cost to have a secure storage unit:
-$20 for box
-$6 for hardware (including eye bolts)
-$2 for shop time

I like the 4 legged security system. I love DIY stuff. It's the military way.
Looks good!
The cargo tiedowns on top will come in handy.
05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.
Someone referred me to Pelican boxes, while applying the same method of storage. They're completely waterproof, so that may replace what I have. Still half the price of the tuffy one, can pick your size and style, and securable and waterproof. It'll make the list after tires, snorkel, synthetic rope.
there was a guy selling his tuffy box on jeepforum for around 250. probably sold by now, but worth a look.
Chris be keepin' it real fo shizzle! Looks great bro, that one of them ol' deployment footlockers?

No. I don't think it's as tough.
