    Default Bikini Top Question

I want to get a bikini top, but I am kinda confused. I know the one I want, but I keep hearing that there is a special 'bar' I have to have at the top of the windshield for any of them to work. Can someone explain this to me and tell me if it is true and how to find out if I already have one. Thanks in advance!

It's called a header bar and there are different types. Yes, you have to buy one for a summer top. I recommend the drill-less header. Here is the one I have for my safari top.

I already had holes in my windshield.. so I figured a cheaper drilled header bar was fine. I use my bikini op to keep the direct rainfall off my dash. The inside's lined, so I don't care if it gets wet.

I use the bolt on header for my Safari bikini, works great. The idea on the drill on type is that you can leave it there when you go back to the full soft top, but I have also heard that there are leakage problems with the full soft top and the drill on header. Only takes a couple of minutes to put it on and if you park the Jeep into the wind or slightly up hill the inside stays pretty dry.

I use the same header for my soft top (it was included with my Supertop) and my bikini top. So far no issues.

I use the one that Colo recommended - just a hassle bolting on and off but it works

I wanted a safari top, so I got a free used top from a friend (with header and bows). Cut the ends off the back of the top. I did some trimming, added some old M4 slings with clips, attached to roll bar, and viola. Free safari top. I'll post up pics later tonight if anyone wants to see it.

I got the SpiderWeb ShadeTop SW1. You don't have to remove it to put the soft top up and needs no windshield channel bar.
